The Songs My iPod Claims Are the Top 25 Most Played (With links to YouTube)
- “Schrei” by Tokio Hotel

- “That’s What It Takes, Dear” by Kristeen Young & Patrick Stump
- “Spotlight (Oh Nostalgia)” by Patrick Stump
- “I Am Gone, Sir” by Hem (Twelfth Night Soundtrack- not found on YouTube)
- “BYOS” by Regina Spektor
- “The Hospital Bed Crawl” by The Hush Sound (Not found on YouTube)

- “12 Fingers” by Young The Giant
- “The Balland of Mona Lisa” by Panic! At the Disco
- “Durch den Monsun” by Tokio Hotel
- “God Made Man” by Young The Giant
So I see that I only ever listen to Young The Giant seeing as though almost every song on that CD is in this list. That’s not really the truth, though I do like them quite a bit. My favorite songs from most of the artists on this list aren’t here. For instance, “There’s A Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered…” is my favorite Panic! song, “Cosmic Love” is my favorite Florence & the Machine song, and there isn’t any Fall Out Boy, which is slightly alarming. “Schrei” is my favorite Tokio Hotel song, but I’m pretty sure I don’t listen to it more than “Spotlight (Oh Nostalgia)”. The only reason “I Am Gone, Sir” by Hem is on this list is because I played Feste in Twelfth Night and listened to the soundtrack on repeat 24/7 while I was learning the songs. It took me forever to get the rest of the soundtrack off of this list, and I’m surprised that it’s not “Hey, Ho, the Wind and the Rain” isn’t the one that stayed since it’s the song I had the most trouble with.
In conclusion, all I can call my iPod is silly.
Radio Karaoke. Patrick Stump style. This is how we do it.

So… Twenty-four days until I’m within jumping distance of Mr. P. Stump and the marvel that is Panic! At the Disco. Slowly being asphyxiated by excitement? Yes.
4First on Shuffle Song of the Day: “Pretty in Punk” by Fall Out Boy.
With their inextinguishable supply of 80’s movie references, Fall Out Boy’s “Pretty in Punk” exemplifies the Blink-182 pop-punk style of the band’s early days; a style that is still present in many seedling bands in the below-underground music scenes of today. The song targets smaller venues and describes the classic “girl at the rock show”. “Pretty in Punk” was once my all-time-favorite FOB song, and though it still stands in the top 25%, I find the chorus of “I’m not the way you think I am” at the end of the song to be a bit too repetitive for my tastes. I’ll stick with “Homesick at Spacecamp”. This song comes off of Fall Out Boy’s nine-song, 28-minute, 2005 EP Evening Out With Your Girlfriend, which was released so early in their professional career that permanent drummer Andrew John Hurley had yet to join the band, they were still using brokehalo7@aol.com as their primary email address, and their exclusively used cereal was Count Chocula. Let’s hope they progressed to something tastier.
p.s. I just write these First on Shuffle Song of the Day descriptions off of the top of my head, so I am sorry for any factual inconsistencies. :)
“This City” by Patrick Stump feat. Lupe Fiasco off of his upcoming album, Soul Punk. “This City” is an anthem for Stump’s hometown, Chicago. I believe it exemplifies how many people in Chicago are proud of their city and wouldn’t trade living there for the world. I believe that Patrick’s music is quickly defining a new genre that fits with his interests and personality well. Thank you for everything you sing/play/record, Mr. Stump!
“Explode” by Patrick Stump off of his upcoming album, Soul Punk. Though I was disappointed with a lot of Truant Wave, I still have solid faith in Mr. Stump. His voice is still meltingly fantastic and his absolutely amazing musical talent undeniable. I like both this song and “This City” (which I will post in a few minutes). Keep doing what you love, Patrick!
